What you’ll be working on?
We are building an AI Observability platform for teams developing LLM-based applications and agents. The platform is based on self-hosted Langfuse and helps teams understand prompts, traces, retrieval, tool calling, agent behaviour, and evaluation signals.
The initiative needs more than a running tool. It needs clear decisions about which capabilities to offer, how teams and projects are structured, how access is managed, what data should be retained, and where sensitive information must be redacted.
As adoption grows, the team will assess which platform capabilities and underlying backends are appropriate for telemetry storage, metrics, evaluation, scale, and governance.
Your Role
Your role will involve owning the AI Observability platform as a product: what it offers, how it is configured, who can use it, and where it should go next.
You will define the tenancy model across organisations, projects, environments, naming, ownership, and access. You will establish practical defaults for retention, sampling, payload trimming, redaction, and data lifecycle. You will assess upstream releases and run proof-of-concept work for potential new capabilities or backends.
You will work closely with the Site Reliability Engineer, who owns service operation and recoverability, and with the Integration & Enablement Engineer, who automates provisioning and connects the platform to surrounding systems. This is a hands-on technical role: you will configure, test, assess, and make decisions yourself.

What are we looking for?

Requirements
- 4+ years of experience owning, administering, or evolving observability, developer-tooling, APM, tracing, analytics, or comparable platforms.
- Hands-on experience configuring and administering self-hosted software at organisation scale.
- Experience with tenancy, role-based access control, access models, retention, data lifecycle, and platform governance.
- Strong understanding of telemetry data models: traces, spans, attributes, sampling, and OpenTelemetry conventions.
- Familiarity with LLM application architecture, including prompts, retrieval, tool calling, agents, and evaluation.
- Experience evaluating technology options through defined criteria, proof of concepts, and evidence-based recommendations.
- Strong judgement around retention, redaction, personal data, access control, and platform governance.
- Kubernetes, Helm, and GitOps literacy sufficient to work through a delivery pipeline and collaborate effectively with reliability engineers.
- Experience working directly with engineering teams and explaining technical trade-offs.
- Strong written and spoken English.

What does the interview process look like?
- Initial Interview: We’ll start with a friendly 45-minute cultural and technical interview. Two members of our team will assess your cultural fit, past experience, engineering expertise, the major challenges you’ve tackled, and discuss your ideal workspace.
- You can choose between two Technical Deep Dive options:
- Homework Assignment: If there’s a match, we’ll provide a brief homework assignment designed to take around 2 hours to complete. This will be followed by a 1-hour technical interview to discuss the homework and conduct a technical deep dive.
- Pair Programming: If you prefer not to do a homework assignment, we’ll have a 2-hour technical deep dive session focused on a practical platform-design scenario.
Regardless of the outcome, we will provide you with constructive feedback to help you grow.
