What you’ll be working on?

The project centers around designing and scaling backend systems that handle high volumes of transactions while maintaining strict security and compliance standards. These platforms are built primarily in Java and leverage modern cloud infrastructure and microservices architecture.
You’ll play a crucial role in aligning engineering efforts with business objectives while ensuring the delivery of reliable and high-performing systems.
Your Role
As an Engineering Manager, you will combine technical leadership with people management, staying close to the code while enabling your team to perform at their best.
- Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing backend engineering team
- Lead the design and delivery of scalable backend platforms (primarily Java-based)
- Define and execute technical strategy aligned with product and business goals
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders
- Ensure systems meet financial-grade security and regulatory requirements
- Drive engineering excellence across DevOps, CI/CD, and development workflows
- Take ownership of delivery, including planning, execution, and stakeholder communication

Requirements
- 4+ years of backend development experience
- 2+ years of experience in a leadership or engineering management role
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and enterprise ecosystems
- Solid background in designing REST APIs and microservices architectures
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and modern engineering workflows
- Experience working in fintech, financial systems, payments, or regulated environments
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Proven ability to manage project timelines, scope, and resources
- Experience scaling engineering teams in fast-growing environments
- Background in high-availability or high-throughput systems
- Exposure to compliance frameworks and financial regulations
- Experience working in cross-functional, product-driven teams
